Job Description

My client, at the forefront of the Rail industry, are consistently developing and surpassing current industry standards. Due to continued commercial growth and success they are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer, based in Birmingham, on a contract basis.

With previous experience in the field your main duties will be to undertake Detailed Design and Independent Checking of design details for the SSI trackside Projects, working as part of the design team and to interface to the Design Manager, in reporting progress of the works assigned for the project.

To complete this role it is likely that you will have knowledge of SSI line side equipment, Dorman LED signal technology and of Mixed Point machine types, and it is essential to hold IRSE License 1.1.150C/D or equivalent as a minimum.

Technology Requirements:

*SSI line side equipment knowledge (ability to check designs using DLM’s, TFM’s and LDT’s)
*Dorman LED signal technology (including PLJI, PLGS, MARI & SARI)
*Mixed Point machine types (Clamp-lock, HW, HPSA, IBCL, etc.)
*BR spec 867 train detection.
*AzLM axle counters at fringes (Not essential requirement).

Typical Design Items:

*Location Plans
*Bonding Plans
*Control Tables
*Location and REB wiring
*Power Calculations (Signalling)

This contract will run for a minimum of 20 weeks initially and for your efforts and services you will be rewarded with a competitive rate of pay and a stable workload in the current economic climate.
