The key purpose of the Infrastructure and Investment (II) function is the efficient delivery of renewals and enhancements through improved specification, better utilisation of resources and the professional control and management of projects. Its focus is to renew and enhance the rail infrastructure to deliver the Company's commitments for the future through increased efficiency and value for money. The planning of activities, resources, plant and equipment for II is integrated with the requirements of the operational railway through area planning and territory delivery planning units. The emphasis is very much on delivery at the frontline and via project delivery units.
The Civils group manages all activities associated with the maintenance and renewal of Network Rail owned structures and earthworks. It is the largest civil engineering asset base in the UK and consists of 40000 bridges, 750 tunnels, and 13000 miles of embankment/cutting. The scope of the works in the Civils area includes examinations, assessments, detailed designs and the implementation of projects, ranging from circa. £10k to £35m.
Reporting to the Project Manager for Civils Earthworks projects for the South East Territory the successful applicant will be responsible for project management of a portfolio of projects value circa £10m/annum through the various stages of the project life cycle and to provide assistance to the Project Manager.

They will have a minimum of a HNC/HND qualification or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. |
